Pipedream Lite

Pipedream grew from the need to give my site a more unique look following from the huge popularity of my Redoable theme. It was only ever intended for my own use, but I have received numerous requests for a public version, and as previously mentioned on deanjrobinson.com I have given in to popular demand.

I’m calling the public version “Pipedream Lite”, because thats what it will be. In its current state Pipedream is not a ready to roll theme that anyone could use, there are a number of customisations that were included specifically for my site and the way that I wanted to structure the layout.

At the moment my line of thought is that ‘Lite’ will have the same overall look, the header, the footer, general post layout etc, but things such as the home page layout that you see on deanjrobinson.com and the colour scheme most likely will be kept for myself. this is mainly because I want to retain the uniqueness of my own site. Where possible I will try to keep as much functionality as possible, even if it takes until a 1.1 release to get it all included.

Development of “Pipedream Lite” has not begun as yet (not including the version running on my site, since ‘Lite’ will be pretty much rebuilt from the ground up), and at the moment I’m not looking at a public release until early next year. Why so long? Well I’ve promised many, many people that I would address the Wordpress 2.3 compatibility issues with Redoable, and work will be starting on Redoable 2.0 in the next couple of weeks.
